Pastor Anthony Lester

Anthony Lester was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, the nation’s first HBCU (Historically Black Colleges or Universities), established in 1837. He also earned a Master of Educational Leadership from Wilmington University and a Master of Arts from Liberty University with a major in Church Planting and Evangelism. In 2002, Pastor Lester and his wife Joyce Lester, founded Sanctuary Baptist Fellowship Church where he presently serves as Senior Pastor.
Pastor Lester is a leading pastor, visionary, vibrant expository preacher and a dynamic Bible teacher. He prepares Christians of all ages to fulfill God’s purpose by providing them with a true experience with God through sound, biblical-based teaching. His spiritual excellence, mentoring and support has been instrumental in the development of Pastors, church leaders and the laity.
He and his wife Joyce consider it their life’s’ work to empower local churches and local leaders to create sustainable change through the application of God’s Word to their lives and to the lives of the people they serve.
Celebrating 43 years of marriage, Anthony and Joyce are parents to three children and five grandchildren. Pastor Lester is a loving spiritual father whose faithfulness, strength, wisdom, encouragement, compassion and care has given rise to the transformation of the lives of many, both here and abroad.
After 47 years in ministry, Pastor Lester continues to be a leading voice of innovation, inspiration, and influence in Christendom today.
